Default New to forum, And New toys

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and i just bought a 2004 blazer. I'm glaD we got a forum specifically for blazers because it's great support for those who need it. I had a few questions regarding my headunit. I got a Alpine 9885 receiver that i wanted to install. In order for me to properly install it, i would need a dash kit, correct? does this work?

also, if somebody can take a picture of where the grommet on the passenger side is located, that would be appreciated. I looked and couldn't find much. Finally, iedited all thepictures of the blazer, just bought it yesterday and looked at the sticky about posting large pics.

I don't have my cam with me right now, but if you pull the carpet back, you should find it

Wow that is a nice color. Hillbillyinohio has a good writeup on top regarding what dash kits/harnesses/etc. you need for deck installation. Did you do that sub box yourself?

I don't have a picture of grommet either, but yes you will need a dash kit to install the new HU. Here is a link to the kit you would need on crutchfield.com , you can find the same kit elsewhere too maybe at a lower price. I would check like BestBuy or Circuit City, if you wanted one right away and not have to wait for shipping, then you would also have a easier return policy if it didn't work for some reason.

Nice looking blazer, I really like the sub box, just a little to big for me.

That color almost looks orange in the sunlight. Great looking truck! Did you have the box installed in another vehicle before the Blazer?

There was only one grommet on the passenger's side, so I'm pretty sure these are the pics you need:

Good luck and feel free to post up again when the system's in!

nah, i had a box builder make this box for me.... it was not ment for this blazer, it was actually for my lumina i previously had. So i guess i got lucky finding the right color of the truck to match the box
