Default Noise? How do I stop it?

So my radio has quite a bit of noise in the radio. When I turn my HIDS on I get quite a bit of noise in the system until the lights warm up. I also get a lot more static in the radio then my OEM one did. Should I find some kind of noise filter? Also, there is a loud setting on my HU. When I enable it the system sounds so much better I think. When I disable it, it sounds muffled and low quality. Is it bad to have my radio on Loud?

it is with subs in the back. My guess is they actually hooked up the dimmer/illumination wire. that will usually cause havoc when the lights are on. what kind of radio again???

its bad to use the loud option anytime. All it does is send dirty signal to your subs.

Noise can be introduced in many ways. here is a short list.

bad RCAs
RCAs run next to power wires
Bad ground on the HU
Bad ground on the amps
ground loop

Well the subs sound fine. The whole reason I am using Loud is because my speakers sound better. When loud is disabled, my speakers sound muffled.

ya, my speakers really sound "warmer" with the loud setting on, but it makes the subs **** like jack hammers......so i leave it off or on low.....depends on the music.....

"Loud" Setting should only be used at low volumes. This may sound like a catch22 but the loud is meant to push more signal to the speakers at a low volume for clarity. Using the loud feature at higher volumes can potentially overdrive your speakers resulting in damage...

The illumination wire should be the orange or orange/white wire coming out of the back of your deck...It should be capped off and not connected. If its connected to a factory wire, cut this connection and cap both ends...
