ohms?
I was wondering what to set my ohms to on my rockford fosgate amplifier. I have 2 12' Lanzars, dualvoice coil,1000 watts peak, and the nominal impedance for one sub is dual 4 ohms and i have to of them. What should number ohms should i set my amplifier to?

RE: ohms?
2 dual 4 ohm subs can be wired to 1ohm or 4 ohms. If you take a look http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp you can see a diagram. Check to see if your amp is 1 ohm stable first. If it's not then you will have to run it at 4.

RE: ohms?
I have my subs wired up to 2 ohms and I have them bridged to my 975watt peak amplifier with thermal and protect. Is this good and will my protect help prevent me from blowing my subs??

RE: ohms?
If anything is going to blow it will be the amp. Whats the model number of the amp?

RE: ohms?
Rockford fosgate P325.2- So if my subs are going to blow my protect will turn on?

RE: ohms?
Well your amp is only stable at 4 ohms. So you need to wire your subs differently if you want to run the amp bridged. Wire the subs each is series to 8 ohms, thenn brdige them on the amp. Or wire the subs how you have it now at 2 ohms, and then wire each sub to 1 chan on the amp.

RE: ohms?
What exactly will this do again? and will this make them not as loud, and by how much?

RE: ohms?
This will allow for it to work. They way you have it won't work probably. The amp will either go into protect, or it may not and will blow.

RE: ohms?
Well I have thermal too, so wont that prevent my amp from blowing because itll will shut it off if it over heats it says. It doesnt mention any wiring, and i dont have to worry about my subs blowing u sed? and y?

RE: ohms?
if your amp isnt built to run at 2 ohms, dont. thermal kicks in when the amp gets to a certain temp, thus saving your amp, not your subs.
you have to run each channel at 4 ohms....or bridge the 2 channels to 4 ohms...
