Never heard of eclipse untill like today when I went to circuit city, never really used JVC but it was always something about it I didn't like. This is completley differen't but I remember almost buying a tv but I didn't when i found out it was JVC. I think it might of been someone in my family that told me that had a bad experience with JVC who knows.

eclipse is a higher end brand. Usually the brands you dont hear about are better.

Bet you've never heard of Nakamichi.

Pioneer is nice unless you got alot of bass. They will skip. Save and go with alpine. they are the best. I had 5 pioneers in mine and they skipped every time the bass hit. Alpine is easy to use and has some of the best sound quality. I have had more systems in my car than I can count and I like the way my alpine sounded with every set up I had. If you dont want to use cds Alpine now makes a head unit that is designed for the I-pod http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...model=iDA-X300. It only plays I-pod no cds. Save and get something thats going to sound right.

thats what happens when you dont install them properly.

I've had my 5 year old pioneer (one of the first XM ready units) in decibel ranges from 139 (lowest) to 145. And have had 0 skip issues.

So I went ahead and got the basic Pioneer that ran for $104.99, they ended up having to put $75 dollars worth of parts in just so it could get hooked up. So I almost spent $200 all said in done, im happy with the head unit only thing is I haven't figured out how to set the clock and I wish it had some visual effects. But all I really wanted it for in the first place was to use my mp3 player and stop burning cds. They got it done in like a little under an hour probably because I was like the first person in car audio.

what unit was it?

I used to install for CC for a living not to long ago.

Trying turning the unit off then holding like the clock button or the like options (i forget the technical term)

I do know you have to hold a button to get to the clock options though!
