Default Pioneer Volumn Help

I have a old pioneer deh 1000 in a 96 blazer. It plays good except for the volumn increases on its on. It will be playing and all of a sudden the volumn will increase to full volumn without touching anything. I can decrease it with the - button and then again it will increase to full. This happens all the time, so bad I have to turn it off. Is their a fix or is it time for a new unit? Any info accepted, thank you.

i believe you have a button sticking just enough to do that. you can take the face off, and remove the four screws and take it apart. clean the contacts with a clean eraser of a pencil, and then put it back together. Just really a temp fix, unfortunately, prob time for a new HU

How does the face come off? It is not a detachable face plate.
