Default Radio Anti-theft code

I have a 98 Blazer 4X4 that I bought at the beginning of the year. After disconnecting the battery to do some maintenance, the radio came back up with "LOC" on the screen. I tried using the code that I have written in my owners manual and it doesn't work. I contacted the previous owner and he said the radio had been replaced(it's a '99 AM/FM CD with cassette in the console just like the original) but he can't remember the code to enter. Any suggestions on how to retrieve the code other than taking it to the dealer? I tried another post (calling the toll free number posted) but I can't get past "enter your dealer code" without getting a "incorrect code".
Any suggestions?

Thanks
Alan

Default Radio Anti-theft code

Hi LastCoupe,

I have the same problem, can you help me? I have a 1999 Blazer and the numbers I got from the whole 2/3 + AM/FM buttons are: 272 276. I've called the 1-800 number but the 'dummy' dealer code posted on other sites doesn't work for me...

If you can't help, can you steer me in the right direction? Thanks!

This is why I am glad that the original owner of my Blazer never programmed a code from the beginning. If all else fails you guys can always install an aftermarket head unit.
