is it possible to find an old altnernator in a junk yard and have it rebuilt to to 250 amps?

yes.. just find the shop.. look to spend about 100 bux or more...

100 for 250 watt damn wish I could get that deal.
I called around today around me and the 2 places that rebuild alt. said #1 160 amp for $180 and #2 140 amp for $100.

dude, dont wind a stock alt to 250 amps. thats just a waste of money. itll take a **** on you in like a month guaranteed. it needs upgraded bearings and **** thats designed for such high demands. look into excessive amperage or iraggi alternators. theyre kinda pricey, but well well worth the money.

he quoted me 450 shipped for the 300 amp and 365 shipped for a 200 amp

300amp? christ man, what are u running? i have a 260amp and its waaaay overkill for my continuous 2500+ watts.

aw christ man, you need like 160amp tops. just make sure you do the big3 in 0awg and youll be fine.
