Replacing stock sound system
And check out Jagblazers OEM thread for the speaker sizes/configuration, he knows whats up.
Dual, Lighting Audio, are CRAP, your just replacing your factory speakers with factory speakers. Go with reputable brands such as Alpine, Infinity, hell, even Kenwood is better then "Lightning Audio". But if you really want good value for your money, ask Jagblazer, because like I said, he knows.

lightning audio has been known too make some decent stuff....particularly amps....but hard to find.....and not really something 99.99% of people would recommend, along with dual, ya....bobs just looking for attention.
yes alpine is quite good....but everyone and their grandma runs em.....JL is a waste of $.....and kenwood just plain sucks....

Alpine speakers are notoriously inefficient. If you are planning on running an amp to your full range speakers, Alpine is great. If you are running off just the JVC deck, I recommend a more efficient speaker like Infinity, Polk or JBL. I run 6 1/2" Reference Series (Shallow Mount) in all 4 doors of my 2000 and they sound great right off the deck. They do, however, lack a little in the mid-range bass dept. JBL and Polk are a lot of bang for the buck and a little better as stand alone speakers. I have an Alpine LAT Box in mine which is tuned to fill in the gap left by the Infinitys. Check out: www.crutchfield.com They have a great applications section, and offer a wide variety of speakers and other car audio gear at fair prices, and they will provide all the stuff like adapter brackets, plug and play harnesses, AWESOME instructions on disassembly of the car and lifetime tech support. With speakers, you DO get what you pay for. "Dual" and "Lightning Audio" are cheap and they sound like it. On the other side, you don't need to overpay to get good quality sound. Be wary of internet dealers. They may offer great prices, but if they are not an authorized dealer, you are buying a product with NO WARRANTY. I LOVE clean car audio and have spent a ton of time researching it. I have good systems that impress most passengers in ALL of my cars. Let me know how else we can help.
