sometimes i think he over-complicates his box descriptions, and to some, it looks like he is re-inventing the wheel. But he does know his stuff.

Well, I'd be totally and utterly happy if it performed as good as my 10" Type-S in a smaller package, lol...

Just for fun I fired up the RE calculator, and staying in the "acceptable" range of 0.25 - 0.65 cu ft net volume vented, Fb = 25 - 35 Hz

I can get a 16x16x7" box with a volume of 0.582 and a tuned frequency of 31Hz...
Take away the .08 displacement from the sub, and that gets me a smidge closer to the "optimal" range of 0.3 cu ft net volume vented, Fb = 35 Hz

That means I can make one TINY box for this, according to the site...

Then again the wonky port sizes I have to choose might mess things up a bit, lol.

12x12x7 with a port width of 0.5" square port 1 length is 10.75, SQP2 length is 6"... Which is a 0.311 internal volume... take away that .08, giving a 0.303 cubic feet... at 34.6Hz...

Assuming I'm doing this anywhere remotely right, lmao.

I assume you are calculating for the RL-i 8"....I would shoot for about .75ft^3 tuned to 38Hz w/ 12in^2 of port area...

btw, if you dont have Bass Box Pro and you need to calculate, i find this one much better than the RE...

There's a lot of numbers I get to type in on that one! lol.

And yeah, that's for the 8"

If the SQ and volume can equal or better my Type-S, especially in a smaller package... BAM! instant sweetness, lol

I guarentee you in the right enclosure that RLi-8 will not only sound better but have more output...

i cant watch the videoon my pc its screwed upbut some 8's can be really impressive. i dont think my 8's are quite as good as those from what you guys are sayin but i always get laughed at for having 8's but they all have changed theiropinion after they sit in my blazer. nobody expects much from them. the main reason i went w/ them was to impress poeple who dought them. mine could be louder if i would build another box for them. mine is too small and port is undersized

ok I forgot to mention a few things like design, build, and ship to me sometime in the near future.
for cash, of course
I might be able to help you out. Got a lot of projects on the go right now. But if you can't find someone to build it, let me know. I don't have the ability to design a box as well as some others can.
