Default Single din trim ring to wide for stock bezel

Anyone else have this problem. I did not foresee this happening at all. I used Metra kit 99-2003. The trim ring is what came with the deck. Do I need a different kit or can I get a different trim ring for the cd player. I really don't want to cut the bezel because I know it won't look right.
Thanks,
Jarrid

I just installed a new HU in my 03 4 dr. Same problem. I don't want to trim the dash either.

That's a bunch of bullcrap, stupid manufacturers keep doing this **** to make it more and more difficult to change things. No matter which way you go fella's, something will have to be trimmed in order to use the trim ring. I am unaware of any place to get different trim rings for HU's, but maybe someone else is. Otherwise my best suggestion is to take a dremel and slowly trim both sides of the trim ring itself until it fits. If you do it right, with the right angle and curve to it on both sides it could hug the curve of the dash panel and look pretty decent I think.

Cheaper maybe, better look for some people.

lol if you really don't like the look of that I'm pretty sure almost anyone on here wants your dash bezel. you could trade someone for the din an a half bezel plus some money for your bezel. Those double dins go on ebay for at least $100

I think I will just rock this for a little while then go double din dvd later on down the road. The double din trim that came with metra kit doesn't fit either though.

How did you even get the metra kit to work? I picked up a kit from BestBuy and the carriage bolts that are used to attach the brackets to the housing are completely in the way of installing kit in the dash. Really don't feel like cutting the mounting posts to make way for the bolts and now it looks like I am going to have a crappy looking set up anyway.

I've never seen a kit like that. The kit I have centers the HU and leaves plenty of room for a trim ring. The little slot underneath would be nice to have though...
