Ok I have alpines in my blazer and I would not suggest that you get them. I love my alpines and sound awesome, but they are defiantly higher pitched then other speakers. For what you are looking for I would suggest Pioneer or Polk.

pioneer, great bang for the buck. kicker, their co-ax's will give you decent bass response. Check out woofersetc.com or onlinecarstereo.com. You have 6.5's all around. in the dash you probably only have a one inch tweeter, or maybe just a blank plate.

I had the Type S 6.5's in my front doors, and I dont know why your saying there higher pitched??? Sound the same as most speakers, the newer Type S' have silk tweets, which is nice.....
but ya, they sound pretty close to my JL comp set which was at least twice the price....
Those speakers go for $60 RETAIL here....pretty good deal on those guys....

yes, it is in a metal plate. slightly smaller than a true 1 inch tweeter, I cut mine out big enough for actual tweeters.

Then I think that if faces the tweeters to the windshield...
Is there a built in x-over on the lines? I might put some 4x6s up there...
