Steering wheel controls?
Hey was wondering if anyone ever added steering wheel controls to there Blazer for the volume and whatnot. I have an 04 an have seen them on extremes and trailblazer s-10s. Thanks
i have never done it but i have looked into it, mainly for keeping the existing controls working on cars that i put new decks into. you have to buy an interface kit to work with the stock buttons it is usualy at least $100. if you need to add the buttons then i assume you could pull them of a junk car and install them or if you could find them you could buy them new. in both cases i have always foound that it is to expencive for me. the radio is already only arms length away. but its a personal preference. i am sure i can be done just is it worth the time effort and $$$.
ps. i have found the interface kits at cartoys

There's a guy on eBay that sells parts from crashed 98+ blazers and s10s. If you email him, he could probably get you a stock blazer steering wheel with the radiocontrols mounted on it. I'd give it a shot if I were you....s10warehouse
ORIGINAL: 03blazer
most radios that are more expensive come with a remote so why do you need steering wheel controls? if u do still need em i know they sell the kit at crutchfield.com

Well I dont know, if I can use the factory controls with my factory in dash radio/cd-changer then I think im gonna have to do it. I just like the features on my other cars and miss it when I drive the blazer kinda. Anyone know if I can just plug n play factory parts. Im gonna ask a tech. tommorow as I pushed a map light lens through the sunroof/compass console and am getting that fixed.
yea man if you can get factory controls for the same factory deck they should plug right in. now mounting them to the stering wheel might be a bit harder. but if you buy the whole stering wheel assembely like speeddemon said then it will be cake.
the search function does work on this site, i swear.
This company makes the actual controls, http://www.jpcustoms.com/store/custo...311&page=1
and Pac-audio makes the interfaces.
Both are decently labor-intensive, and will take some time.
