all depends what impedence they will be wired at. Before you jump the gun at cartoys, you need to define to us "quality". you mean loud and boomy or accurate reproduction of the bass notes.

Well since i listen to country and southern rock, i suppose accurate reproduction would be nice over loud and boomy. What do you suggest in that department? best bang for the buck. Like i said i have roughly a thousand dollar budget, but i need to buy the box and wires etc.

Im glad you answer that correctly The sub in the link below is the absolute best bang for the buck and has AMAZING SQ. They sound best in a very small (0.8ft^3) enclosure and require a fair amount of power. I would recommend starting with just 1 sub for now and see how you like it. These subs are very well known in the sound quality world. IF you do decide to stick with 2 subs, the only problem you may encounter is finding aqualityamp that produces 1400RMS @ 2ohm and staying within your budget.

haha yeah... i had some Hillbilly Deluxe cranked up and some a-hole in a beat up honda pulled up next to me with his bass louder than his music... i had to roll up my window AND turn the music up full blast.... But that sub looks amazing, especially for that price! I think one should work just fine lol thanks!

Now with the sub out of the way what amp do you suggest I use to compliment this sub?

Try and find an older PPI amp. I have a PPI 2360 which is rated at 360 watts continuous (underrated) with this Kicker combo https://www2.visions.ca/catalogue/ca...nuLevel=%27%27, and itpounds pretty hard. The box was made for these subs, so theres no distortion and you get some pretty good SPL. Alpine also gives you good bang for the buck. I've also been happy with JL, Rockford, Infinity makes descent subs as well. As far as wiring kits, I picked up an 8 gauge stinger wiring kit for 100 bucks and it came with everything I needed and then some. Best of luck! Post what you get with pics of your install.

great suggestion for the PPI. Unfortunately the newer kicker stuff is only good for kicking. They are HORRIBLE for sound quality which is what the OP is after. JL is also very nice but much too expensive for what you get. Infinity is bottom of the barrel equipment. The higher end rockford amps are nice, everything else is entry level gear. The Dayton HO I linked to in my first post is your absolute best bang for the buck for sound quality hands down.
