I think your biggest problem is the amp.

decent power is the foundation for any good audio system.

sure you can upgrade your drivers, but with a lack of power, it wont sound like you want it to.

On the other hand if you only want to upgrade subs, I suggest going with only 1. Im guessing your amp puts out around 4-600rms at 2 ohms.

an Alpine type r is only $140, cant really beat itin price to performance. unless you buy used.

Alpine Type-R, hands down. After getting mine I will never get anything else. Terrific sub for the money, as mentioned, and excellent, just excellent sounding bass.

I like my MTXs. I got them in a sealed box hooked up to a 800w Orion amp. They have a decent hit. If you want something really heavy hitting, I've heard good things about Boston-Acoustics G512 models. They are supposed to be heavy hitters with tonal sensitivity.

couple of things, I agree with type r's, great budget subs. but I would put kicker cvr's up against them every day. second, on the 12W6, nice sub, but you are extremely underpowering it. I mean horribly. thirdly, I wont buy any mtx subs except 7500's and 9500's.

But on the issue at hand, I would look at upgrading your amp first, hifonics are great bang for buck, but you can get refurb kicker 750.1s all day long on ebay for about 170. will put out almost 900 in most cases. then look at a sub.

Google the amp's model number and find its specs. Look for the RMS power, which is the power the amp is providing continuously.
