Default subwoofer ports

i am building a new box and wanted to port it with slot ports. My question is what is a good frequency to port it at for day to day use of all types of music? Or would i just be better of sealing the whole thing for SQ?

really, that surprises me. i ported a box to 32 hz and it did pound. but there were few times when it really hit that low. one guy told me 50's and i thought that was a tad high. i was going to do a 44 but figured i would check with tha best. but you say 30's for day to day systems?

Seems like for dd in the range of 32ish. When I build my box I am going to tune around 32. I had a prefab box before that was like 45 and I didn't like it.

50 is for SPL. even 45 is pretty damn high. def for DD, keep it in the 30's. mines at 38Hz, and its like PERFECT. very loud lows
