Default System issue...

Hey guys. I'm having some troubles with my system lately and don't know where to start. I recently moved my equipment around a bit and ended up moving my amps back to where they were initally; on the back of my rear seats. Last week one of my buddies sat in the back seat and all of a sudden, POP... Then a bunch of feedback came. Now every time I turn my volume above 0 my speakers POP super loud, and I get a bunch of wierd noise in my speakers and can't even listen to them.
I have tryed removing the RCA's from my sub amp and turning it up andit still happens to both my speakers and my subwoofers (I have 2 seperate amps). I have checked all of my connections for loose fits and I can't seem to find anything.

I have a feeling it may be a grounding issue; does this sound like somthing that could be giving me the feedback and wierd noise? I need to figure this out ASAP, I can't live without my stereo! Help!

do you have access to a DMM (digital multi-meter) if so, check the resitance of your ground

Yes, I do have a DMM. What setting should I put the DMM on when testing and where should I touch the leads to?

resistance (ohms) and the batt and where your amp is grounded. first zero your meter out and check for resistance in your leads.

Ok, I will do that. What should be the ideal reading that I will get, should it be 0? I really don't know what would be good or bad...

I just got done testing my ground with the ohmmeter, it instantly went to OL (Overload) on my meter when I touched the positive and ground cables... This seems bad, should I change my ground location?
