It's "mad cheap" for a reason.

It's a general consensus in the car audio world that Sony, while they may be good at TV's/computers/PS3's and other things, is NOT good at making quality amplifiers/subwoofers/speakers. They tend to extremely overrate all their products and are aimed at the typical uneducated consumer (not saying those with Sony's are uneducated). The typical consumer doesnt know the difference between PEAK ratings and RMS ratings but they do know that "bigger is better". I once saw a 1200W Xplod at Pepboys for close to $80. In all actuality, it may be a 300/400W amp with a fat number slapped on the packaging to draw attention to it.

There are a LOT of brands like that, ones that aim towards the general consumer rather than someone who looks into specifications and ratings before buying anything. Typically, the only brands Wal-Mart carries are brands that are 1) from an unknown comapny (Roadmaster, Durabrand) or 2) from a below average, extremely overrated company (Visonik, Sony, Lightning Audio, DUAL)

Wait for some more experienced members to give suggestions and help you decide before you blow your money on something that is SEVERELY below-average (i.e. ROADMASTER 6.5" 200W PEAK woofer...)

When you find what you like you can always look at Peripheral Electronics to hookup an amp to the stock HU
