Default which way should my sub face?

My sub is currently facing upwards. I was the max loudness out of it and was wondering if the way its facing matters.

I have them facing back but that's because if they were facing forward you'd see the speaker wires.

I have done subs up/port back and subs up/port up and there was no difference at all on the meter. Both were very loud and windy

box seems on the big side for a single 15. Drop it down to 3.5-4 and you'll gain some output for music

^^ This....I would say stick closer to the 3.5 and make your tuning between 30-35hz depending on the music you play.
