I just got 2 kicker comp 12's. I need to know a good amp to get for them. I use to have 2 infinity reference series 12's with the reference 611a amp. but my gain surged and blew my amp and one of my subs. what should i do with these New subs? Also is the kicker zx750.1 amp good for them?

 

Well if they are just the plain Comp 12"s then you have a max/rms wattage of 300/150. I would recommend this amp wired into 4 ohms.

 

my last amp was more powerful than that. i went to circuit city and they tried to get me to buy the zx750.1. and electronic express said i should get a 1000 watt kenwood amp.

 

Kickers makes three different series of Comps..... Comp, Comp VT, and Comp VR........with the regular comps (they are black) you only have a max watt rating of 300 watts. You stick anything higher than that on there you will blow the sub in no time. However if you have one of the other versions you could fit a bigger amp, I wouldn't go with 1000, I have 2 CompVR 12"s and only a Kicker 400.1 Class D mono amp and they hit hard. However with the CompVR's they are 800 max 400 rms....
