ORIGINAL: g4mbl3

i got a 4 pc interior led kit, 7 color for $30 and its amazingly bright. has tons of modes as well as fade, strobe and music mode. love it. let me know how your project comes, i wanna make some custom lighting for my amp rack im making

From my test alone, I'll go out on a limb and say that these will definitely be bright enough for that. As long as you're not looking to light up the entire back end of your car with one, but a few of these will do the job. I'll post pics when I get my brackets made and i get a few mounted onto the ceiling of the car.

for ~$20 i can get about 10 High Brightness LED's that can light up my entire car.... Annnd, i can have all the fun of installing them and wiring them. Haha. I know what you mean though. I Got a couple strips from walmart for $20. I'm just putting them in to see how well they compare to the LED's. I'm guessing one LED can put out the same brightness as one of the strips. Maybe 2 if the strips put out more light only because they're longer. Besides, didn't you read my first post?

"Quote" please don't tell me to jsut buy some. I realize I can do this but it's easier for me to just make them and not to mention the fact that I have a certain appreciation for doing things by myself. "Quote"

finally, some pics of my accomplishment. they aren't much, the camera doesn't do them justice at all. And this is only half of what i'm going to be putting in there. Another strip is going on the other side.

One Pic with just the lights on

One Pic with the flash on to show how they're mounted

Tell me what you think!

Under the dash lights

Annnd, the crappy walmart LED bars under the backside of the front seats, they do their job and aren't too too bad i guess

you bet! lol. I'm gonna be putting in more LED's underneath the rear seat soon and a strip over the rear seat to replace the regular dome light. the lights in the back are actually much brighter than they look in those pics. more than enough to light up the back
