depends on how long you play it for. I usually give mine about a week before I adjust and test again
that explains why i blew my first sub []

I dont see the point of break in peroids, playing the sub at full power will be fine when you get a new one.

What do you do when you break in a new engine ??????? Run the hell out of it i dont think so. The point of breaking in a sub is to soften it up so you're not trying to push it hard as hell when it is still all stiff. Also it increases the quality of your bass. We tested this with my solox. I would have for sure blown it while trying to push the 5k rms i had hooked up to it just because of the resistance on the sub itself.I had the amp turned down so it can slowly breaking in and every day you can notice the bass hit deaper and deaper.

Cliff Notes -
Quality of Bass
Softening the spider
Longevity
Not being a fat nerd and blowning your new equipment

Now comparing a sub to a new engine is just stupid, a subwoofer is a very simple mechanical system where an engine is a complex one. Your spiders will soften up either way and they wont know the differnece if they were ran x amount of hours with less power vs being ran at rms power.

How does softening your spiders make the sub last longer?
I know 1 thing for sure and that is every sub is at its loudest right out of the box when it is STIFF.
I can see how the sub will sound better once broken in, but why waste your time "breaking it in" when it will "naturally break in" with regular play time?
lol @ engine - sub comparisson.

And now back on topic for this thread. I AM THE LOUDEST [sm=closed.gif]

I did state breaking them in will help in the sound of the driver.
But it will not make it louder, in a thread about who is the loudest it is odd to be talking about breaking in a sub.
