01 ZR2 5spd swap and mini resto
I love my rusty 2000 "Z69" build, but it's beyond junk...literally falling apart. I bought another 2003 that I've been winter driving that's going to get turned into the new offroad build with a 5.3 sm465, 37s and super duty axles. So I bought a pretty clean 01 ZR2 with a sunroof and dead 4l60 to make the new winter beast. I think I can get 10+ years out of it with fluid film.
I've got my beloved Z69 5spd donor torn down now, and I'm just starting with the 5spd swap on the ZR2. I'm taking the time to make a good detailed how-to video of the swap, with answers to all the questions I run into. I already made some problem-solver clutch pins and have the pedal in. More to come soon.

Guess I've been slacking on updates, but I've got it driving and I'm really happy with it. So I'll post the first batch of pics to go along with the video of all the rebuild stuff not related to the 5spd swap. It needed a lot more work than originally expected (surprise surprise). But now I fixed the typical ZR2 frame cracks/breaks, along with all new fuel lines, brake lines, pads & hardware, ebrake cables & adjuster, new clutch, oil cooler lines, new gaskets in the 4.3, all new Mevotech IFS stuff, new fender and all the flares & bumpers rattle can painted...and I added rear LED pods, backup camera, DDIN touch screen, heated seats and I did removable door pins again..kinda my thing. haha

And here's the 5spd conversion stuff. Made a step-by-step how-to video when I did it.
This was the simplest 5spd swap I've ever done, and I've done a few different platforms. Pedal slides right in, tcase, crossmember, driveshaft are all the same. NSS wiring is already there, you only need to splice 2 wires for the reverse lights. Couldn't be much easier if you have all the parts you need from a donor.
