So getting ready to get 'ol Red back, I've started making new plans already
I've since sold the old roof rack and 40" LED light bar, so I plan on ordering a new rack and stepping up to a roughly 42"-46 " curved bar mounted just above the windsheild. I also plan on mounting a couple LED pods facing the sides and rear for a full 360 degree light output. The end wiring for the roof will have a 4 gauge power and ground running through the roof an a 9 conductor wire acting as signal wires. I plan to mount a small weatherproof lockable toolbox in the rack and run all the wires to it, and I'll house a fuse distribution block and a bank of relays to run all the lighting, as well as a small air compressor and a small tank for some onboard air. Maybe some air horns in the future, just for kicks
Going to finally install my CB as well and mount a PA speaker for it up on the rack as well.
I have a winch plate at work that I need to bring home to start mocking up the mounting. Looks like it'll work out well using the factory frame rails, bolting in a couple of 2" receivers like I see people doing that slide a shackle mount into. I plan on running some 2" box steel into the receivers and bolting it all down, then welding the winch plate to the box steel. I'll most likely end up ditching the factory mounting for the brush guard and welding it to the winch plate, if I decide to keep it. The winch plate might turn into a bumper, in which case the brush guard just wont be going back on lol.
I brought this home today to get started on. Sad looking Smittybilt XRC8 that needs some TLC. Going to tare it apart this weekend, regrease, and check out it's functioning. Got it for ZILCH
If it works, I'll put a little money into a new clutch lever and a new fairlead, throw a layer of fresh paint on it and rock it!

That winch doesn't appear to have even ever been unspooled judging by the cable!

Yeah it seems pretty mint, it's just had the Florida sun beating on it for who knows how many years so it looks like hell lol. It wasn't even hooked up to power in the Jeep I pulled it off of! I gave it power today to test it and it works GREAT! Going to rip the planetaries apart and regrease it as I hear these XRC's come with grease that's like glue and they're difficult to free spool... I need to pop the side cover off anyhow, the clutch lever refuses to move...

First addition since getting it back. Had these sitting in the garage for a while, I think I pulled them off a Nissan Xterra. Took a little cutting and bending of the mounts to make fit, but they turned out pretty good
Decided I'd mod some from another vehicle to fit since these are pretty much impossible to find for a Blazer...

After a little paint they came out alright. Not prefect, but eh, can't tell unless you get right up on them lol

Brought home some goodies from work today
Winch plate; actually slides right in between the uprights on the brush guard, so I should be able to keep the brush guard and maybe even beef it up a little by attaching it to the winch plate! Also a pair of 30x9.5 Cooper MT's that I had originally got for spares, but I may just wait and see if another good pair come in, or if I get antsy maybe just buy two new ones, these two are in MINT shape! Came off the rear of a little Suzuki, the owner must have lifted it and never done an alignment because these rears look great while the fronts were SHOT lol

Also a spare intake setup complete with MPFI spider, just 'cause
actually my lower intake is cracked! That's what prompted me to seek out a replacement... I've had it sitting around at work for a while, only just decided to bring it home... Last time I changed my thermostat, the forward most bolt that holds the thermostat housing down grabbed the threads in the lower intake and busted a chuck off, and a bolt will no longer thread threw... My fix, a C clamp... But hey, it 'aint stupid if it works! It's been holding like a champ since and it's been almost a year, and unless I have a more serious reason to pull the lower intake off, it's staying that way lol. So for now I just have the spare parts in the garage, needing a cleanup, but they'll be ready when I need them!

Nice grab on the tires. Working at a salvage yard definitely has its advantages.

they take a little massaging but they fit pretty well if you're willing to work with them
