04 4DR 4X4 Project
Hay all. I've had my blazer (04 4DR 4X4) for 5 years now and decided I wanted to do a few things with it. Since I'm moving up to Burlington I want to be able to start trail riding, I want it to stand out more, and I want to learn a lot more about how the entire vehicle runs and works. Thus I found this site which has given me a LOAD of information on what some of my options are, what kind of things to avoid, and also a supportive backing in case I fowl something up.
So onto the car!
Exterior body and suspension:
-Stock
Interior and audio:
-Kenwood Faceplate
-Infinity Kappa front (mounted in front of door handle) and back
-Infinity Basslink
-Amp ( car is getting inspected and smoked and I forget heh)
After pouring through other threads, it seems the best first step would be to add a 2" body lift, 2" shackles to the rear, and then crank the front 1 to 1.5 inches to be able to fit 32's underneath. Oh and yes I'm perfectly fine taking a hack saw to my car.
I'm thinking 32x11.5 BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM2 Tires on either American Racing Outlaw II Wheels (15x7x6bs) or Cragar Soft 8 Wheels (15x10x4bs). I am leaning more towards the Craigar's because I would rather cut a little more off the body then have the tires rub on the inside.
One question I had about these is if 11.5 tires on a 7 rim would have a "poofy" sidewall look compared to a "flatter" one on the 10" rims. Or am I just making that up.
Another question about these tires...will a spare fit underneath outright, and if it does, what kind of clearance would i be losing if it sticks down lower. I'm looking into a roof rack that would be able to fit a kayak, a bike, and a tire all together if need be...but this wouldn't make it onto the car for a while. So if the tire doesn't fit underneath...um...idk
So thats what I'm thinking for stage one...of course down the road more hight and some bigger tires would be fun...but money and experience will have to come first.

I forgot about the paint...as you can see in my avatar the door looks fine, but the front bumper and rear bumper are scratched (front was my fault...dumb mistake in the woods. Rear, someone decided their car would look better smashed under my bumper leaving minimal dmg on my car, yay for suv's) I'm going to be painting the thing black, and have access to a paint gun. What I was looking for is someone who was interesting in practicing detailing in the Burlington area (reads artistic background). You would be able to use my setup and paint...and you could pretty much do whatever you want. Ill be painting the rest of the car, but you would have the entire hood to play with. But if you wanted to do more...have at it. If no ones interested I think I'm going to play around with some basic cutouts I could do myself in an alternate color.
Any takers?
