Question 1983 s10

What larger v6 would be an easy swap in to my 83 s10 5spd chassis??

well.....if it's a '83 neo, it'll have the 2.8 in it.

your best (& easiest) bet is to find yourself a complete donor truck from the '93 & down S10 p/u's or '94 & down Blazer/Jimmy's. the Bravada's only came in AWD.

this way you can do a complete driveline & wiring harness swap, and there will be no custom work required.

all of the exhaust, drive shaft, cross member (which is different for the 700R4 compared to the 200 that is in your truck now), engine mounts, etc will bolt right up to your truck. even the newer ('86 to '94) dashes bolt in. swap over the steering column for a tilt unit as well.

in fact, if you are good @ making mods work, try finding a newer ('98+) truck and swap away. same chassis in the truck as well, but the electronics will take a little bit of work to fit to your cab (different location for the computer & wiring harness through the firewall).

not a really hard project to do if you're gonna stay in the 1st gen platform.
