Exclamation 1983 chevy s10 oil problem

well notice when i bought the truck had an oil leak from the back got worse in do time well ripping it apart and found clumps of dirt-crude oil burnt i scraped and cleaned and vacuumed up the crap and sprayed it down to clean it up.
also cleaning the push rods and lifters is there anything else i should know before putting it back together cause the intake is slugged up.

Only thing you can do about the intake is spray tons of brake cleaner,carb cleaner etc,use a wire brush and get as much as you can out. and keep doing so till its clean. After you get it cleaned out, install everything back and run some seafoam. Even consider running "engine flush". Then after you do that you need to drop the oil pan and make sure the pickup isnt clogged up from the engine flush. That motor is crying for help.


Also. this belongs in 1st gen section of the forum.

well I'm used a vacuum to suck all the dirt off and i used engine flush when i first got it and that's why i noticed the oil filter was heavy all the time when i changed the oil but the engine is in good health i dont beat on the truck so it has alot of power plenty of compression. just all i have to do now is clean it up right now.
