Default 1999 Blazer, Hunting-Fishing Rig

I have been looking for a descent blazer here in Michigan that was not over priced or beat to hell for under 2k. If your from michigan you know people think everything is made of gold lol. I found this 99' blazer, 160k miles, 50k on rebuilt trans for $2300. After test driving it and looking it over i drove away with it for $1800.

So my plans are to do all the maintenance, get some bigger tires under it, fix the ghetto door jam and bedline the rockers.

Well i got alot done the day after i bought it, changed the oil, filter, new vacuum line so the 4wheel wheel drive will lock in, air filter, cleaned it up a little. Gonna go look at a body lift tomorrow for $25. Still trying to figure out a way to fix the ghetto door jam.

I've got a '96 with 96k on it. Great truck for huntin and fishin. Sounds like you've got a good start on er already. Being from michigan also, I bed lined the rockers/bumpers for the mean look and to protect against salt and debris on two-tracks. Other than maintenance a good set of all terrains (I have general grabber At2's) and a hitch rack are pretty much a "must have."

I'm working on suspending rod holders in the cargo area, but haven't really figured out a good way to do it...

Good luck and share some mods if you get a chance.

Welcome to a VERY COMMON problem with these Blazers and Jimmys! I had the SAME problem of the door jamb being cracked around my latch. I've got mine welded up, but still need to clean it up. That's about the best you can do with it. I've been hoping to catch something on here as to what everyone has done to cure their problem with it.

I have seen a few cool setups online. Really thinking i like the style that sticks to the side windows.

Ordered my new wheel bearing, trying to figure out why its shifting funny, Seams like it shifts slow and slips when cold.

Picked up my 3'' body lift today, and now trying to find some keys to match 3'' lift shackles.

Also has anyone tried these 120w ebay led bars?

yea thats the only way you will get it fixed. The body shops have lasers or something to line doors up and get them to close right. Definitely worth the money to pay and have a post put in.
