DiffBuster - I am selling those gauges when I get some time to pull them out and switch to LED bulbs.

Sparky8542 - the alternator is a DR44G off of a 2005 silverado. If you get one I would recommend making sure that it has the 4 pin connector instead of a 2. They can be changed but it is big pain and they are a bit pricey. On the bright side I have a new voltage regulator. I haven't had any time to do the big 3 because I have had a lot of family plans and working over time.

 

So I got my dash out and I was going to pull my bulbs out for LED bulbs. However, I can't seem to get the bulbs out of the socket. Are they perhaps soldered in? Any Ideas / suggestions would be appreciated.

 

I got some interior mods done today. I installed my voltage gauge under the headlight switch, I cut the hole a little too wide, I need to do something about that. I also pulled my Indiglo gauges and installed blue LED bulbs. Here are some blurry pics.

THAT LOOKS SICK! What exactly did you need to do those guages?

 

I bought a set of these:
The stock dash bulbs are soldered into the stock sockets that go in the back of the gauge cluster. So I pulled a set from a set of gauges I had lying around from a wrecked corolla I used to have. The sort of fit. They sockets and contacts aren't laid out the same. So I used the Toyota sockets but you can only twist them about 75% of the way.

I also did the entire led conversion to my panel and soon will to some accent conversion I decided not to do the HVAC leave them white for now to match the stock Bose system I like what you are doing to your rig keep up the updates...

 

The HVAC bulbs have to be soldered in. I just replaced mine with regular 12v bulbs I got from an electronics store.

 

The HVAC bulbs dont need to be soldered in ...You can get them from Superbrightleds.com I just dont recall the number they are...But if you put in your vehicle info they give you a list of all the bulbs and there conversions for your vehicle... The only one that needs to be soldered is if you have the rear glass defroster button at the bottom of the HVAC unit...I have pics of my led conversions on my build page...I do need to solder in that bulb still though for the defrost button..

 

You should change the name of this build- It's not so boring anymore!
