Not a bad deal. I have never seen a set of those on a blazer, they should look good.

Dang Buddy you are going right along on that build. Mine was going good but stalled out with lack of funds for the time being. Make sure to take pics along the way. Also have you had any trouble with the quad light setup yet? Just wondering because i want to do that as well.
The quad headlights are working ok but I haven't had a chance to check in the day time to see if the DRLs are messed up or not, maybe tomorrow I'll get a chance. And I am pretty sure later I will get rid of the cheap squeeze together connectors because they didn't make a very good connection at all and sometimes the low beams go off. I think I'm most excited about the tire carrier cause I feel that alone beefs up a vehicle and gets the tire off my roof lol |
Just a small update, the quad headlight mod works great wired up with the relay, DRLs work as they should also.

Not really any mods done to this blazer in a while, been spending all my money doing maintenance on this beast and just bought a 2 door blazer for myself so the wife can have this one for herself. New one is the dark green so a little more masculine then the red :)

Doing maintenance work on this beast again. It's getting replacement leaf springs, parking brake shoes, backer plates, fuel pump (maybe), lower ball joints, tie rod ends, exhaust, and some body work.
Now I have a few issues. 1 is the energy suspension bushing set I ordered is not the correct kit so I am pretty annoyed about this especially since I got no response from the company from a support request so I ordered a new kit and need to return the wrong set. https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1457026429 Now a few questions. My original springs had a pitched shim, the replacements do not. Should I use the shim on the new springs? https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1457026429 And after removing the fuel tank I found the pump retaining ring to be extremely rusted. The original fuel pump works but the gauge does not. Wondering if I should just leave it alone or attempt to get this apart. https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1457026429 |
I'd say if the original fuel pump is still working, it won't be for long. At least in my experience. Dropping the tank is most of the work, and it looks like you've already done that anyway. Obviously, it's your money, though, and sometimes it's hard to justify replacing something that is working.
|
Money isn't the issue really. I am just pretty sure I am going to destroy the tabs that hold the retainer ring if I can get it apart. Pump is already bought but these tanks are hard to get for some reason, except of course from a junk yard.

I was able to get a brand new tank local and same day for $100 when I bought mine.

At an auto parts store? Which one? I'd love to replace everything before I put this all back together.

I had the same problem when I ordered my bushing kit. You probably need kit number 3.2142G (black) or 3.2142R (red). I got red because black was out of stock.
