So I bought this cheap I’ve always wanted a 2dr 2wd Blazer so why not right. So it’s a 2000 ZR2 that I’m LS swapping along with making it 2wd I’ll use blocks for now and keys for the front I’d heard of coilover conversion for the front but I haven’t found info on it. So I have a 5.3L I’ve installed a Elgin 228/230 585/585 cam and matching springs. Trans is a th400 shift kit and 3500 stall with the 2000 6.0L iron block flex plate. I put new injectors and all new sensors in along with a Current performance wiring harness and 0411 ECM. I have speed engineering SS headers and ICT mount adapters. After I get the truck running and all bugs worked out I’m going to build another engine with better rods and put a single turbo on.
If you are going to go through the trouble of an LS swap and turn it into a 2wd truck, to me it seems that starting with a ZR2 will result in more work for you due to the suspension of the ZR2 being for 4wd, beefier and raised which would be less compatible to being a 2wd road truck. I freely admit that I might be missing something on this. Is there an advantage to starting with a ZR2 for what you want to do? The whole front suspension would be different and could present lots of issues in the swap to 2wd. For one thing the 4wd version uses torsion bars whereas the 2wd version uses coil springs. (i.e. torsion bars cannot be made with non-constant spring rates. If not, I'd think you'd be able to get a good price for it as ZR2s are more desirable because of the beefier suspensions and then use the money to get a better regular 2dr blazer as a starting platform for you swap.

Well you work with what you got I guess. I wish I could have found a 2wd I would have but this is what I got. Tell you what I’ll trade anyone straight across if you’ve got a 2wd 2dr. Lol
but anyway I’ve heard of getting rid of the torsion bars and putting coil overs up front and switching the rear leafs to bell techs or something idk but the offer stands also When removing the front diff and axles I’m just stubbing the axles so the front wheel bearing are still fine.

I have a ZR2 and thought about doing the same thing but I'm just getting mine up to par and eventually I will get a 2dr 2 wheel drive and pop an LS into that.
