New member, looking forward to start my build. Already finding lots of great info on here. I just bought a 2002 4 door Blazer with only 82,000 miles. Already acquired the nickname “Mini 5”. Plan to make a solid hunting/woods truck out of it. First order of business is to get a decent set of shoes under it. I picked up some 30x9.5r15 Achilles Desert Hawk MT tires. In the process of building 1.5” rear lift shackles and gonna crank the Tbars up front to provide 1.5”. Hopefully the new tires will fit no problem. More of a difference between the stock tires and the new 30” tires than I thought I’ll post some pics once I get tire and lift install complete.
Fun project. Congrats on getting a relatively low-mileage example.
I've been using my Blazer for much what you are planning to do. For my suspension lift, I did basically what you did but I also used the upper control arms from the Rough Country 2.5" lift kit so to have a better angle for the upper ball joints. I too have the 30x9.5R15 tires and I can report that they fit perfectly. The 31x10.5R15s are also popular but they will rub the frame when the wheels are turned fully over and there can be some small clearance issues around the edges of the front wheel wells. I had my local tire shop test fit them for me so that is how I know for my truck that also has running boards. I have a link to my lift thread below.
