Ugh, purple is such an expensive LED though. Especially UV LEDs. It would look pretty cool and unique, but man they are costly, even buying components.

My wife's mustang has purple dash lights turns out you can switch them to a bunch of different colors with the push of a button from the factory!

I was looking at these, already has a resistor with them too (since there are no plug and play bulbs for these things, you have to de-solder the OEM bulbs from the boards and solder the LEDS in)

I was thinking of trying something like that with some 5050 LED RGB strips

The ******* passenger reverse light stopped working all together. It stopped a bit and worked again now it stopped all the way and wont come back on.
I have power at the connection so its an issue with the board. This is the last ******* time I open up this tail to fix it. If it messes up again I am just putting a PnP reverse LED bulb in both sides. That is what I get for using solid copper wire instead of stranded, does not flex as much.

Nothing quite like the frustration of building something, getting it together, then having fail for something stupid. I've been there several times myself.

Yup, Its all part of the fun and knowing there is nothing else like it.
Opening these up vs the Jimmy when I built those is night and day. Very simple, just aggravating.
I dont want to have to use PNP bulbs. I like being able to see each individual LED damnit!

Figured out the issue, V-reg failure. Luckily I have a couple extras laying around so I dont have to wait for digi-key to ship another.

Odd failure, never had one fail myself. You have caps on it I assume?

Yup, caps... And that was my issue. I must have wired this v-reg up while I had a few.. put the caps on the wrong leads.
Put the one for the output on the input and the input on the output.

The spares were already wired up with caps, t-sall good now!

Lesson to the young folks, dont solder while you are drinking!
