500$ Craigslist Special.
ordering some new brake pads, brake fluid, and some different wheels this week as the ones i have are way too much offset, ive picked up a new set of front fenders from the junk yard for 40$ to replace the ones i ruined cutting up to make room for the offset on the wheels lol.
15x7 4.5" backspace wheels is what im going with and using 1.5" spacers in the rear, probably putting 31x9.5 or 31x10.5 on the wheels this winter. should be a good setup.

update finally..
i havent really done much modifications since the ****ty cholo wheels. but i did end up changing the wheels to some 15x7 4.75bs wheels that fit much better.
have done a lot of general maintenance lately, ball joints, idler arm, brake booster, another heater core... all the brake stuff as mentioned before, new fenders! new distributor shaft as there was a reallly really bad misfire problem going on and it was due to the distributor shaft bushing being worn out and excessive radial play. new updated valve body for the transmission, ummm yeah just a lot of ****.
its been a fun project with lots of trips to the junk yard with freinds and its to the point where it is running very very well compared to the other blazers ive had, gets 16.5-17mpg now and i drive it every day and am thinking about selling my brand new car because i dont even drive it any more lol.
has been great for trips in the mountains and exploring.
heres some pics as of lately:
(older pic with cut up fenders still)

looking good. I wish i could get 16.5 mpg lol. i usually get 15. Some of those pics in Colorado are super pretty. We don't have much of that in New Jersey lol. But we do have long open roads surrounded by fields. Some even without speed limits
Haha, i bet theres some decent trails somewhere there, and 15 is usually what i got prior to the distributor fix, maybe it's time for a tune up or something?

As for the trails, yeh there is some decent ones, here and there but New Jersey is pretty flat. I have found some good places where many other people go but im not sure how the local cops feel about it lol. I dont do anything illegal for sure. I think there is just a lot of tree huggers around here
alright, finally decided to put some actual money into this thing, got some 30x9.5x15 kenda Klevers, got a roof basket, locked the rear diff with a Powertrax lockright locker, got a highlift mount on the basket, im building a mount for the spare tire to go up there too and also ordered some rotopax water and gas cans to go up top.
things that went poop since the last update: my door hinges started falling off, replaced pins and welded the hinges back to the body. the fuel pump again, my driver side mirror vs a traffic barrel, the barrel won lol.
anyway heres some pics:

Awsome,,,,, I love these builds, take advantage of everything GM did right and fix all the short comings then you have a nice reliable truck. It's not a pavement princess purchased for 50k but a fun tool around DD that your not afraid to ding, and there's plenty of parts trucks still around. This is what I love about mine. I get about 16 to 17 mpg also so I am on par with everyone else.
Thanks for sharing and keep the updates coming.
