77 k5 12V Cummins Swap
Hi all,
I am getting ready to put a 12v Cummins in my Blazer. I want to use the 47RE trans out of the donor truck with the motor. I have seen Blazers with the 12v in it but they are all using a manual gear box. Does anyone know if the 47RE will fit in this Blazer?

The transmission should fit into the truck but beware that the 47REs are kinda weak unless built correctly. Many people run the NV4500 transmissions because both dodge and GM used them so they are easy to mate up to different configurations and different transfercases.
if you do use a dodge transmission you will need to find a transfer case that will mate up to it correctly because the dodge transfercases have drivers side front driveshaft drops and GM uses passenger side driveshaft drops.

Thank you for the info. I have a local guy who can rebuild the 47RE so it will not fail. The donor trans needs rebuilt anyway. I have a 12v in another vehicle with twin turbos and all the accessories and he rebuilt the 47RE in that one about 10 years ago and it has been solid.
As far as the t-case I did notice the difference in the front axles. I am going check with Advanced Adapters and see if they have something that will work.
I am not opposed to the NV4500 just a bit hard to find.
Or replace the axles which I would rather not do.
