85 S15 Jimmy - the Tyclone - LT1 & AWD
Check to make sure the bolts/nuts all along the widsheild including underneath the speaker grills are removed and the bolts/nuts at each kick panel. I think that is it. But I have only looked at junkyard vehicals with the dash already removed. I been contemplating pulling my dash to take care of some wiring issues. Let us know what was preventing the dash from coming out when you get it resolved.
Thanks to everyone who helped me with this horrible dash project with your replies. Those of you who pointed out the hidden, sideways 10mm bolt to the right of the steering column that I hadnt removed helped solve the stuck dash issue. I got that bolt out and unplugged the remaining harnesses and voila, 1 1/2 hours later it was out. lol
Now I have a new issue. Once I got the dash out I realized how much stuff goes behind the dash that my Jimmy is missing, Vacuum lines, wires, insulation, etc. I have a lot of swapping to do now. I have a mechanic friend of mine staying late with me after work to help me on the swap. What a PITA!!
Any suggestions on removing all the vent stuff? (see last pic)
On to the pictures.
The trucks sitting in the operating room, one donating organs, one waiting to receive them.

and its out

So this is the dash that I just removed. It will help me rebuild my Typhoon dash and reinstall it, plus its donating all the hardware and misc pieces to the project,

And the Typhoon dash...

Everything that you see here needs to be removed and swapped. I cant seem to get out all the plastic vent parts without breaking them. Any suggestions?

The latest updates are from last night. We worked on it for about 12 hours yesterday. My buddy Junior came over and took control of the situation. I became the helper and we got ALOT done!
We started by going through the wiring harness and testing everyting to make sure it worked. This required hooking everything up. We found a few ground issues, blower motor, headlights, tail lights, alarm, etc. We pulled the doors to wire them with the Typhoon door harnesses and run the wires through the jambs. Also hooked up the door/courtesy light switches.

We got all the lights to work. Brake lights, blinkers, headlights, high beams, etc all funstional!

Then we pulled the whoole harness back out...

The heater core was next... you never know. I dont want to EVER do this again! So I bought a new one.

We finished gutting the old Blazer and pirating as much as we could from it.

Then started putting all the dash ducting back in. Ran the vacuum lines and one even goes through the firewall under the cowl. That meant that we needed to pull the hood to pull the cowl AGAIN. So we got that all buttoned up.

and then Junior got the whole harness installed in the Typhoon dash using the Blazer dah as an example.
