Default 87 K5 enging: 350 bored 40 0ver cammed or diesel engine???

hey guys...ok first off im new to this forum so pls be kind lol...i bought a 87 k5 a month or so ago and am trying to choose between possibly putting a 350 thts been bored 40 over with a big cam (idles arond 750 to 800 rpm in the truck its in right now) and putting the tbi off the original motor that came off the blazer (having any work thats need to be done by a prof. shop to do the swap) or saving some money to drop a duramax in this guy...im just wanting some opionions or advice from anyone that done either of these jobs lol...summers coming up and i want this blazer ready to roll by winter thanks for the help!!

What do you plan on using the truck for?
350's are tried and true, last a long time and can make gobs of power.
Diesels make mountainous amounts of torque, but will require more work to install and maintain, not to mention that fuel is through the roof for diesel now.

One thing I do know, if you dead set on keeping the TBI setup you are gonna have to get the PCM tuned for to run with the new setup. If you plan on upgrading your heads or cam, your gonna have to get it tuned again...

Carb is the way to go on a performance motor, IMHO

I plan on using it as a winter driver/summer mudder...mostly something thats nice to roll around in, gets me where i need to go in ****ty weather, and tht i can take out and toy around in when the need calls.

Also ya im pretty set on keeping the tbi but like i said theres a shop in my home town id take it to to have any tuning/work done to the motor and the pcm to do the swap so i can just drop the motor straight in.

And ya im leaning towards the 350 just because as u said theyve been around forever parts are easy to come by ect. but the idea of a diesel did kinda have me thinking...
