This is the factory colors and paint scheme. I am the original owner and the Jimmy was in serious need of some TLC. However, the tailgate is my re-imagining the emblems. The original was a banner decal that is no longer available. So i used 2023 GMC letters and 2000 GMC Jimmy for the lower left corner.

I got my 98 blazer 3rd one in 2010 or so given to me by a friend. I have been slowly working on it since and after pressure washing it I discovered it wasn’t just light surface rust but a few bondo spots and some major holes. Slowly been doing a frame up restoration and then one day a 2001 popped up in Florida for sale after long conversations and lots of pics I drove down there and picked it up . 30 hours of drive time got it home repaired the blown thermostat pipe and radiator and started driving it a bit. Discover frame was cracked had a professional shop repair and started installing the lift kit to give me a daily in the winter that year. 2019. At this point I had my engine built, and everything new front to back for suspension's and brakes, and brake lines. New fuel tank ,pump everything except an trans and body work. ZR2 suspension for leaf springs RO 2” lift energy bushings, 1/2 body mount custom made. ZR2 wheels with new tires and all the body parts to go with it. Blazer needed tires for winter so I figured I’d throw the lift kit and bushings on it. Got to the last side and realized that it had been hit dead in the front right wheel and that the frame was junk. It’s sat in front of my garage since. This week I finally decided it’s time to get it going. So I installed the upper control arm and been nutting and bolting everything to get the Florida bent frame vehicle moving. I just pressure washed it off . If it’s nice tomorrow I’m going to bolt wheels on check tcase and rear diff install battery and go for a ride. Then I’ll pull the 98 body off of my frame in the garage and finish the frame restoration. Plan is the front clip from a ZR2 is being welded on and I’ll have a true ZR2 4door blazer with full a RO lift kit to boot. Then I just have to decide on a paint color.

Hope you have many long years with your newly painted blazer

Good luck on your project. Much more than i would be willing to tackle. The only advantage I have is that I have owned mine since new. I know the history of my Jimmy. During the paint prep there were some areas that needed welding and rust mitigation. The shop took care of anything they found. prior to painting.
