97 parts blazer revive
Don my track record for auto trans rebuilds isn't great lately lol. But I've got 3 4l60e trans waiting to be rebuild. I need to get the blazer fixed and wrap up the jimmy soon. I have another big project almost ready to go. Im going to be swapping a gm v8 and trans into the wife's 06 charger this summer not sure if I'm going ls or l31 and need to get started on my boys 85 f150 this summer.
So far so good lol.. had to stop after I got the trans in. Needed to replace the transfer case input seal and forgot to order it. So had to drive to work , 50 mile round trip, to pickup my spare transfer case. Currently in the house taking a break from the 100 deg heat. Getting ready to head back out n finish up here shortly.
Well, got the trans in and got it back on the road. But... it was idling high and the trans is making noise in all drive gears. No noise in park or neutral. The high idle was because I must have stretched the throttle cable when I was moving the engine around to get the trans to line up. I bent the throttle cable bracket and got it back to a normal idle. The noise i think I've traced back to a bad converter. So looks like I get to tear it all back out and replace that this weekend. Seems like a never ending battle to keep our dailys running lately. I really want to get back to finishing my purple jimmy!
Time for an update. The $300 blazer still lives and is still the wife's daily. She finally tested out the bumper i built. She hit a deer on the way home last month. No damage at all to the front of the blazer but the deer spun off the bumper and hit the passenger door.

Then this last weekend I started getting it ready for winter. The tires were getting pretty worn so it got a newer set of hand me down 31s.

Next its getting another inch or two of lift and the running boards are coming off. Im building a set of nerf bars for it.
