Another Navy Blazer
Greetings all. I have been reading this forum since I got my first Blazer a few years ago. Last April I reached the limits of traction with it in the snow and hit a tree. This bent the frame of course so it got totaled. Sadly I had fallen in love with blazers so I got a new one. A 2002 4 door this time.
I decided I should make a build thread to show what I have done. A bunch of the mods got transfered from my old wrecked Blazer. I have gotten so many ideas and so much advice from this forum. I hope that others can get the same benefit from me posting this.
Here is the list of everything I have done so far.
CB radio with PA Speaker
Grill Guard
Auxiliary driving lights
Homemade Cold Air Intake with heat shield
K&N Filter
Red LED map lights
LED strips foot well lights
LED dome lights
Seat Covers
Black painted rims
Chrome lug nut covers
Day Time Running light disabled
Automatic Headlights disabled
Quad Headlights
Removed pinstripe
Debadged
Painted door badges
Tinted brake lights
Tinted front turn signals
Painted Headlight trim
Removed Throttle Plate Diffuser
Painted Badge put on airbag
Thrush glass pack muffler
Rear facing light bar
Hypertech Programmer
ZR2 Torsion Bars cranked 1.5”
2” lift shackles
Arrow antenna
Clearance Lights
This is how she started
Next I swapped everything from my wrecked Blazer
Pretty soon after I got it I moved to Pensacola for Navy things so the mods slowed down some.
Debadged and removed that nasty pinstripe
Hunter Grill Guard with KC lights
I painted one of the badges and put it on the glove box
Tinted the turn signals and the tail lights. I also found the bowtie badge off a Silverado and put that on the tailgate.
For Christmas I went home and took the torsion bars and shackles off my old Blazer and put them on this one. That gave me 2" in the back and 1.5" in the front.
Today I put on some clearance lights. It was a little scary to drill into my roof but I think it looks great. Many thanks to HcHawks09 for selling me the lights and helping me figure out how to put them on.
I am in the process of making a roof basket now. I am also getting a new CB antenna since the basket will prevent me from using my current roof mounted one. Those will be the last mods for a little while as I will be very busy with Navy things soon.
Finally some comparision shots with other random Blazers.
