Big Blazer Audio build

6 Attachment(s)
It's going to be off to a slow start.

Plans are
6 Incriminator Audio Death penalty 15' in a flat wall.
3 Incriminator Audio IA40.1's
3 Incriminator Audio IA6.4's
4 Incriminator Audio I6.5 comp sets
Dedicated mid bass, most likely my mpyre 6.5s
Some kind of a decent super tweeter(keep up with the bass)
XS power batteries
MechMan 270 or 320amp alt
Haven't decided on deadener yet. It will either be second skin or stinger
CAI-will decide later on
Most likely a PCMforless tune
Projectors up front and eventually upgrade all the lights
Get a matching spare
Maybe a push bar
Lots of little stuff
Replace drivers door

Here's what's going on today. This is just stuff to hold me over until the big gear arrives.

No audio updates still :(

Finally got the old sway bar links off. I burned up all my dremle tool cutting wheels and had to resort to a hack saw... It was a nightmare.

This is dragging ass.... Not many updates really. Still gotta fix the 4wd and the HVAC controls. Need to do front axle seals and some front end work.

I'm still waiting on subs. I've been stocking up on other gear though.

Got some gear today!

One of my 18s(three more in route) and four comp sets. These subs cannot be described. I'm honestly blown away by the build quality of these. I ran a good number of various drivers last year, and for these to be hand built in Alabama, it's amazing. Absolutely beautiful. Pictures do these no justice at all. Way beefier than I thought too.

Here's a small update. Pulled the stock battery to drop my D3400 in. Had to mod the battery tray. Pain in the ass using dremel cutting wheels lol. Repainted it. I went to start my big three and just getting ready to start running wire in general. Well couldn't find my hammer, roommate moved it and didn't tell me. Took almost an hour to find. I was pissed. I ended up breaking my hammer crimper once I found it. Got one crimp.... I didn't like the diyma 0ga terminals really... I also pulled the front differential actuator while the battery was out, to hopefully find my 4wd issue and I did.

More updates. Crimpers won't be here until Tuesday, which I'm still pissed about... I planned getting my big three and few runs done today... But good news is, my MechMan elite 370a alt will be here Tuesday. Which I paid for on Wednesday, so that's what I call service! I'm excited. So I'll be busy this week. Next weekend, some wood should be going in :)

Also I got my avh-x5500bhs in. It's an amazing unit. No homo. Just on stock speakers, the sound is night and day different. Streaming bluetooth audio is great. CD is even better. I still need yo ground the parking brake line, hook up the "reverse light" wire, backup camera and aux cable lol. I'm really liking it so far.

Had to scrap all the dash kit crap. I picked up some metal strapping or plumbers tape. I didn't like how flimsy it was. I found some "J-hook" straps we on wood poles to do cable drops. It about three times as thick, so much more strength. I only took two pics. I was just focused haha.

Kind of temped with wire nuts. Eventually I'll solder and shrink tube it. You can see where I added some bolts to low portion of the opening. Secured in with epoxy. Hopefully they stay in when I unbolt them lol.

I don't feel like build the dash bezel, so mustache tape to cover up the mounting.

Woooo. More progress. My 10 ton crimpers and 370a MechMan alt came in today :) I'm freaking wore out. Everything took way longer than expected but oh well. Alt works great. Had a battery light for a second but it worked out. Looks like I'm almost charging at 15v. Got Three + and - leads to my front battery. Used that FA 00g wire. Which was a bitch. But it's silver tinned ofc!

They're a must with this kind of work. I got tired of using my hammer crimper.

94_FoeDoe 05-05-2013 08:27 AM

Cool build. I'm not going as crazy as that, but maybe (4) 15's. I do have a couple of questions for you:
-Did you have to regulate the alternator? Is the 15+ volts your gauge is reading bad for it?
-How does the foam work? Does it make it more solid sounding and not echoey?
-Are you going to "line" the rest of the interior with some sort of sound deadener? Have you ever used just rubberized undercoating? Or liquid bed liner?

Can't wait to see the finished product...may have to ride over and look at it in person. I'm only about 2 hours away.

4 15's will be much easier. Kinda wish I would have got 15s lol.

For the alt, it has an internal regulator. My gauge only reads 14.1-14.2 I will say, I don't suggest charging higher than 14.8 daily. 15.5 is ok if you're doing a quick burp.

The foam helps strengthen then panels and take some resonation out of it. Really helps more with strength though.

Yes I will be adding a lot deadener. I'm a firm believer in adding the proper amount deadener. Most likely alpha damp and stinger roadkill expert.

Cleaned up my cluster fawk. Keep in mind this is a temporary setup. So I'm not cutting the wires to fit right now. Also the the project db is "backwards" since I had them setup for when I put the batteries to the back. Then it won't be backwards :) I need more amps so I can fill up the holes!

The before
https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1369977322

The after
https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1369977322

I'll rerun some more wire before scrapin to clean it up a little bit. But I don't to waste a lot on a temp gig. I'm also hoping to double power for it too.

I'm super happy with the busbars. Perfect bevel on the inlets, everything clean and smooth. This is my fourth purchase so far. Each one has been great. Also mechman and xs power ftw :) zero drop at idle!

The air shocks. They're rated from 25-200psi. Right now I'm sitting at 75ish. Almost perfect level and rides great. I had to pull some wire down but I'll button that up later.

New air shocks, old factory bilstiens. Still had some left in them too.
