Cool little rebuild for ya. Anyone have any info on this?

You know, I made a joke about that to my dad. "Hey, I should find a Chevy big block to put on it!" I would destroy the tire in just one quick little pull of the accelerator.
I think I will match my truck. It'll be cool.

Got a lot done today. I finished stripping the paint and rust off of the frame and got it primed. It's looking good.
Here are some pics:
Tomorrow I'm going to do one more coat of primer, and then later tomorrow I'll be getting it painted blue to match my truck. It's not going to match exactly, but it'll be close.

WE GOT COLOR!!! Talk about blue! lol. It's darker than it looks in the pictures, but it's very close to the color of my truck.
What do you guys think about the color? Now I need to think about what to do with the forks. I was thinking black, but I also had a suggestion from my dad on yellow to match University of Michigan colors. Any ideas?

well.... seeing as how i was a spartan and will actually be going to UofM (dearborn) in the spring.... i'd say match your truck and leave it at that haha

Well, as an avid UofM lover, it would be hard not to do UofM colors. It would be very hard to do MSU colors, because green and white are the signs of the devil. lol.

FYI, If you decide to up the motor to a larger one, there is ALOT of trick parts available out there for small engines. As I mentioned earlier, Briggs and Stratton has great engines, they arent that noisy, and there is tons of trick parts... Honda has all the same stuff too but costs more. When I was doing small engines Ive see little lawnmower motors that kids use in dragcars that make about 35HP in a 5HP block. They run on alcohol too. Its worth looking into. You could bump up the power, and change that rear sprocket for a smaller one with less teeth and that little bike would be a rocket. There is all sorts of different tires you can get, mini fatties for the back etc... There is a whole community of go carters and mini drag racers etc, tons and tons of goodies out there to find.
Cool build Im going to watch this one.

Thanks for the suggestion ohsofly. I'll look into it. Maybe I can get 10-15hp out of this little 5hp motor. We'll see. I have yet to tear down the engine further than I have. Been kinda procrastinating.
No updates yet. I'm going to go with black forks. It'll look sweet. I should be getting back to it tomorrow after work. I still need to apply a second coat of blue on the frame. Then, there is this clearcoat at AutoZone that has specks in it to give it a metallic look. I think it would be very nice.
More updates to come.

My cousin had one of those when I was a kid. We must have put 2000 miles on it in his backyard. That thing was a blast to ride. That brings back some good memories.
