Default Heart Transplant on 2000 Trailblazer

Just a few shots of my latest project. Rebuilding the 4.3 it had a 170k and the lifters started tapping found a few cooked cam lobes and a ball of tar in the oil pan. Long block rebuild done by National Cylinder in Orlando. Pretty staightforward stuff. Bellhousing bolts are a P.I.T.A and I'm used to an inspection plate access to remove tourque converter bolts. I was surprised to find these had to be accessed through the starter hole.

Wow?! This is very interesting that you're doing a rebuild at this time. I'm in the process of rebuilding the motor from my 2000 Blazer LT 4X4. Mine is the same color, Peanut Butter & Jelly is what we call the color-combo on my side of town here in Chicago. I bought the Blazer with a bad motor, however, I found that the tranny was bad also. My original plan was to swap motors & tranny's from my 1996 into the 2000, but I decided to rebuild the 2000 and sell the 1996.

Well, the trans is done, and I have almost everything for my motor. Waiting on a few parts to come in to complete the rebuild.

Hey Kevlar974 which motor do you have and what enhancement if any are you doing?

I replaced my tranny about 1000 miles before the motor went out.
I guess the 2000 model year are all reaching that age or milage if you drive as much as i do.
I know there are alot of upgrades available that can get your 4.3 up to or better than the stock output of a 350 but they are just on the wishlist for now.
I just need to get her back up and running before my wife gets too used to her dads car. (borrowing an 06' STS V caddy)
dont get me wrong the car is sick super fast with all the options but we don't need another payment and he's trying to sell it.
Any pictures of yours Tutype?

I have pics. I need to learn how to post them to the forum. I will try to post them Saturday once I figure out how to do so.

Default Nice Work

I like that Blazer color. I'm in tear down mode too! I would send some pics but the files keep failing. They must be to large.
