Jamaroon's S10 ZR2 Trail Rig
Yeah this weekend went pretty good. I was really dreading swapping the wiring but it went really well and really fast too. I think it was only a couple hours to remove both and install the one back in.
Big things now are:
- doing a bit of body work, need to order patch panels
- finish cleaning and painting frame
- swap the engine and related stuff over
- install new front and rear glass <-- next big thing I'm unsure about. I'm going to use the windshield off of the xtreme, but getting it actually installed is the problem.

Passenger side door wiring transferred over

Battery tray and upper control arms cleaned up and partially primed

And just because I'm sure someone will ask why I'm bothering with the upper control arms, I figure if I spend the time one them, put new bushings and balljoints etc.. now, then I can swap them to the Blazer once I don't need them on the Sonoma anymore. This is something I wanted to do on the Blazer anyway.

I was prepping the other inner fender for paint today and part of it disappeared before my eyes.... I had one from each truck but this was the one with the least rust.
This is what it looked like all cleaned up

This is what it's supposed to look like

I cleaned up the one on the rusty inner fender and it didn't disappear to I cut it out to make a patch panel

Fitted in place

And welded in

Yesterday I was able to get the heater core switched from the S10 to Sonoma. I figured since I have no Idea how long the Sonoma had been sitting it'd be safer to just switch it out.

Then Paul came over and we removed the driveshaft, exhaust, trans cross member, CV's, and front diff.

I need to see what else is left that I need to disconnect or remove and then the motor can come out.

yeah, it's almost turning into a semi-resto
Saturday I went and removed some stuff from the xtreme that's sitting at my dad's place. Took off the windshield, airbag and some other misc stuff.
Then yesterday I got most of the dash put back in.
When I was installing the airbag, I found out that they switched airbag plug styles between 99 and 00 (ZUKMODDING) so I disassembled the plugs and switched them around.

The Sonoma had some aftermarket speakers, I figure I might as well use them but they didn't fit right.

I dug out my rotary tool and made some more room in the dash and now they sit flat.

Installed with covers and cleaned up

Airbag installed

Radio installed and how it sits at the moment

I did have a mystery electrical connector that I couldn't figure out where it went. Finally figured out it was supposed to go to something on the heater core assembly... after the dash was back in all the way. Luckily I was able to squeeze a couple fingers up and managed to get it in.
