My $350.00 2001 Chevrolet Blazer 4x4 - Picture Heavy
Howdy!
I've spent the past couple weeks browsing various Chevrolet forums, trying to find the right one to fit in with. First I'll give you a little background as to how I ended up here.
I originally drove a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer with a 5.0 302 High Output, I loved her, and I really regret getting rid of her, she put up with everything I put her through ( like driving over 120mph on the interstate like a loon :lol: ). But I had always missed driving a truck, my first truck was a 1993 Ford F150 Flareside, and so I decided to sell her in favor of purchasing a shiny new toy. I sold her for $1,700 ( $1,000 more than I paid ), drove down to a local dealership, and started financing a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 4.8, was a damn beautiful truck, but they wanted too much for it in the end ( they managed to make me sign off on it without reading :/ ) and so I sent it back.
Then out of no where on Facebook, someone posted this lovely 2001 Chevrolet Blazer, and I happened to have an old '86 C10 that was beyond repair, and the guy wanted to trade me straight up. When I say beyond repair, I mean it had a rotted cab, not a single straight or non-rusted panel, the frame was snapped, and the motor was smoking like a train.
And so here I am.
A little about the truck;
She's a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer with the 4.3 V6 Vortec 4x4 auto with 93,000 miles, working air conditioning that blows at 31.5 degrees! She's got power door locks, power windows, cruise control, the whole nine yards. No stains, rips, tears, or cracks anywhere except for one of the tweeter grilles. And the engine runs like a top, no leaks in or under this thing. The only problem with the Blazer what-so-ever, is the cluster is acting up due to cold solder joints, but I'm going to purchase a new one shortly to solve that problem.
I've already given it a quick bath, did the quad-beam mod as there aren't any street lights where I live, replaced the factory radio, basically the usual new-used car stuff like plugs, wires, oil change, etc.
I plan on maybe lifting her 2" just to give it a better stance, new tires and wheels ( not sure which yet ), and installing one of those rear tire racks, as they look bad a** on the 4 doors.
I guess I'll end it right there for now, and post some pictures for ya'll to see. I'll hopefully start updating this thread with new information within the next 2 weeks when I get time to pull her into the garage and begin really digging into her.

Care to show your quad beam mod how you did it?? I have a 98 with DRL, I have pulled my DRL fuse the black one in the fuse box, and also put the diode or whatever in the AHL sensor in the speaker, I also have 2 40 amp relays also...
This hasn't really been much of a build thread, we got some bad news about the bank trying to foreclose on our house, but have since resolved that mess. We have fully paid off the house, which will now leave me more money to begin doing some of the things I want to get done on the Blazer.
Since I bought it, it has ran like an absolute top, but has had this small misfire, so today I went and bought some new plugs, went with AC Delco Iridium's ( any opinions on these? ). I got home and began pulling the plugs, the previous owner must of went with Bosch like an idiot, and on the #1 plug, they cracked the ceramic. I had the entire job done in about 40 minutes, 25 of which was just trying to get out that #3 plug.
I thought it ran good before, but now it feels like it's only got 20,000 miles!

I also want to do something Christmas themed this year, so I put a wreath on my grille, and I'm going to buy a strand of LED Christmas lights to wrap around the roof rack.
