Snapped a few more pics of the Jimmy, the night before the pollen hit. Everything is yellow now in the Charleston area, and it just happened literally overnight! I swear, I saw pollen drifting across the parking lot at work, kinda like blowing snow, except yellow. Anyway, here are the pics:
A little more clearance than my buddy's truck...

Not as much as this truck, though:

Down by the river:

And, my personal favorite of the bunch (after a little Photoshop magic):

That's it so far! She goes into surgery tomorrow to get the idler arm fixed. I may decide to grab a can of Plasti-Dip and dip the rocker panels tomorrow, if I'm feeling froggy...

Nice looking Jimmy. As for the idler arm, you can do that yourself, pretty easy. Just make sure you get it aligned after.
As for the 11mpg, you pretty much need to do 2 fillups back to back to calculate it correctly. But 11mpg of around town driving in a 4wd isn't too bad. Especially if you idle it much.

After doing my math using the number of gallons to fill up and miles driven, I'm getting more along the lines of 14-15 mpg. Plus, I replaced the nasty air filter yesterday, which should help a bit. Will add new pics when I'm at my computer.

The lower your needle gets to empty before you fill up, the more accurate the calculations. And you won't be able to get even a relatively close estimation based on quarter or half tanks. Just go by the # of gallons the pump says

UPDATE: The Jimmy is running well! I still want to get a tune up. Idler arm fix helped a bit, but steering is still a little sloppy. I drove it from Charleston, SC to Asheville, NC and back without any problems, and better gas mileage than I thought I would get! There is still so many things I want to do to it, though!

Good looking Jimmy for $400. I'm getting in the neighborhood on 15 mpg as well, which is a big difference from my 30 in town in my escort, which is probably what you were used to in your neon. lol.
That's definatley something good about blazers/jimmy's. when you get them, and they weren't really cared for, it's not terrible to fix.
Have fun, and keep on the building thread, as I expect to see more then you originally planned (because I am in your boat. lol)
