My '95 S10 Blazer LT project

I have 1995 Chevrolet S10 Blazer LT 4-doors 4x4. I am planning on working on this Blazer. I have a part-time job so the money fund will be slow. This will be my daily driving vehicle but will take it off-road a little but not alot. I will post the pictures later when I get home from work.

chevyracingfan23 04-10-2012 08:39 PM

Back home from work. Here are the pictures of the Blazer. Feel free to bring up any ideas for me to do.

paint those tow hooks and give 'er a good wash and wax. you can also think about getting either a body lift or torsion crank and shackles i just did the torsion crank and i think it looks great much better. also maybe brush guard/bull bar, whichever you like

Ok thanks 98chevyblazer, I am going to paint them tow hook hope this weekend if the weather is alright and warm. Could I go with black or grabber green? How hard and expensive to do the torsion crank and shackles or body lift. I only work part-time.

chevyracingfan23 04-10-2012 09:47 PM

Will the torsion crank or shackles infect on my gas mileage?

chevyracingfan23 04-11-2012 01:58 PM

Thinking about taking the factory pinstripes off on my Blazer.

Torsion crank and shackles didnt affect my gas mileage at all, but i went from a 235 size wrangler rt/s to a 30" bfg all terrain and it brought my gas mileage down from like 22-24 highway to around 19-21, but i think it sits nicer now. You can't really notice that it does unless youre staring at the wheel wells, but i like the look. all i did was buy the shackles off ebay for around 55 bucks and the torsion crank is free, but my bolts were rusted stuck in the shackle so i had to have a shop do it and they installed new bushings and bolts and an alignment for 193 bucks, so not bad overall i guess. they did the torsion crank too :D looking better btw!

chevyracingfan23 04-13-2012 10:48 PM

Ok I might be doing that next but need to find somebody that know how to do that. But I only have 235/75/15 tires right now.

98chevyblazer 04-14-2012 10:50 AM

Im sure it'll still look good with the 235's, just search around the forum and see what you can find

Ok I will search around on here and see what I can find. I am trying to get hold of some of my friends to see if they did a torsion crank and shackles before or not. After these tires wear out then I am planning on putting BFG on there.

If you want to know how to throw rear shackles in, take a look at my video. I made a step by step on how to install the 2.5" rough country lift. FFW closer to the end to see the shackle install

Is it body lift or suspension lift? How much it cost? By the way the blazer look awesome.

rexmburns 05-25-2012 12:09 PM

Shackles are part of the rear suspension. Do a quick search you will find more info than you will probably ever need about them on here. Yur truck is looking good much better with the pinstripes!!

You gotta trim up your exhaust! I hate how they came from the factory sticking out so far.

I am going to have dual put on later on this summer or fall :) Have $600 on the loan then it pay off.

chevyracingfan23 06-04-2012 02:46 PM

Got the Blazer debadged and did a little of body work on the doors. It isn't the best body work but good enough until I have the money to get the body work and paint done next spring or summer. I found somebody that will do it next year. It is pretty good job by me for first time doing body work and painting. Here are the pictures.

I was planning on doing the whole rim black. Is that alright? The chrome isn't clean it all rusting up bad and I can't get it all off. So I was thinking of sanding it all down then paint it black.

CraigSnedeker 06-05-2012 08:09 AM

That would look sick to :)

chevyracingfan23 06-05-2012 08:12 AM

Yeah that will be my next project. Going to paint the rims black and get some red square trailer lights for the rear bumper to cover the holes on there from the clips on the trims that I took off. Hopefully in the next month or so :)

rexmburns 06-05-2012 08:25 AM

You should pull the chrome fender trim off!

I will next spring after I get the metal for it. It is so rusty and screw won't come off so I don't have any more metals left in the garage and I am having a guy repaint my truck next spring. So next spring it will come off. Just want to leave it there so it won't look stupid with half missing body panel on the wheel wells.

kenny100034 06-10-2012 07:45 AM

I've been contemplating debadging my '96 but i still dont know if i like it. Was it difficult to pull them off, ive done one of mine to fix a dent in my door

I like the look alot better when it is debadge. It was alot of work and some are difficult to pull off. All you need is heat gun (work alot better) or hairblower (still work but take a long time), fishing line, bottle of goo gone. If you do debadge your let me know when you put the pictures up. Good luck and just take your time.

chevyracingfan23 06-12-2012 12:50 PM

Well I am in process of blacking out the exterior of my 1995 Chevrolet S10 Blazer LT 4dr 4x4. Well when I was at work tonight and during my break I was looking at hunting magazine and all the sudden I was wonder if I could do the camouflage interior with blacked-out exterior? I was thinking about do the camouflage on the carpet, headliner, steering wheel covers, seats, floor mats, and dash. I love camouflage and hunting alot so I was wonder if this is a good idea and a project to includes to my '95?

jbw23 06-12-2012 02:14 PM

Go for it, I'd like to put more camo In and outside mine!
