My Other Trucks
20 Attachment(s)
I figured I'd start a thread featuring the other trucks in my fleet. This thread will be on any trucks I am working on, present and future. The Blazer and SAS S10 will continue to have their own threads though (links in my sig).
This is a 95 S10 with the 2.2 auto. Bought it for $500 in Nov, 2012 with about 140k km. My dad wanted it but didn't have the funds so I figured I'd but it. He will eventually be buying from me but has been working on it in the mean time. He's replace the box supports, box wheel arches, p.side cab corner, lower part of the third door and patched the rockers and front fenders a bit. Bedlined the box, painted the box and is the process of prepping the rest for paint. He's using Hot Rod flat black. He is also planning on converting it to a 98+ front grill and ZQ8 suspension from my xtreme (see next post). https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1366386863 https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1366386863 https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1366386863 https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1366386863 https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1366386863 https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1366386863 https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1366386863 https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1366386863 https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1366386863 https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1366386863 |

This is my 99 xtreme. I bought it with about 240k km for $500 a few months ago. It runs but just barely, pretty sure it has blown gaskets. It's really rusty and I'm just going to be using it for parts for the others.

I love the ZR2 you have in that pic!

I don't know why I keep thinking it's a 95, it's a 97. This is probably more for my own memory lol I'm sure no one cares if it's a 95 or 97. Or if anyone is even following this thread.

Passed the safety no problem.
My dad then installed the rear leafs out of the extreme to lower the back of the truck and now it's sitting roughly level. He also got the rollpan installed and it's officially on the road https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1370367063 https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1370367063 http://i787.photobucket.com/albums/y...ps9a6d00c7.jpg Attachment 31723 |
That's not a bad looking little truck at all! Id DD the crap outta that:)
|
I'm following too! Nice little S. Rex is right: it would make a great DD.
|
I always like the look of the 2WD second gen pickups.
|
Oh, it's officially no longer mine as well. In my dad's name now, but I'll keep you guys updated on any future changes.
He's done a pretty decent job on it especially considering it's the first time he's ever painted a vehicle. It's got some blemishes but it's not too bad. Will make a good DD for him. |

2" drop all around, I think that makes it 2" front and 4" back total now

That truck looks like it should have 700hp. :D The flat black makes me think sleeper.
|
lol yeah, unfortunately I bet it'd be lucky to get 1/5th of that... It's a sleeper as in driving it will put you to sleep :D

Totally forgot I had this thread, I'm going to put the Silverado into here now.

2003 Silverado 1500HD; Crew Cab, 6.0L, 4L80E, ~156,000 miles These two pics are from the ad, when I went to look at it he mentioned he wouldn't mind keeping the wheels and tires for his next truck. I didn't like them and would have taken them off and sold them anyway. He was willing to take a good amount off the price so I was happy to buy it without the wheels and tires. Especially since I already had a set of tires sitting at home. https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1456757308 https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1456757308 One of the tires he put on had a cut in the sidewall so it leaked really bad. He told me before hand so I knew about it. Just meant I had to change the tires ASAP. I managed to get 2 of them changed yesterday. I bought a bunch of BB's to use as balancing beads. I had bought enough to do the 39's for the blazer, 2 sets of tires for the Vibe and a set of tires for a truck. Since I needed to measure some out for the truck, I decided to measure out everything while I was at it. https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1456757308 Stock tires size was 245 45 16, I bought it with 265 75 16 on it and now I'm putting 305/70R16's on. https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1456757308 One I had mounted on a steel rim already so I threw it on as is to save some time. I will mount it on the aluminum wheel when I get some free time again. I still need to do the front tires too. https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1456757308 Now I just need time and money (don't we all) and I can start tearing into the Blazer.....FINALLY! https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4290/...a7a5a2ee_z.jpg I also got the tint removed from the front headlights, turned out ok. A lot better than they were that's for sure. Still need to do the tail lights and turn signals. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4241/...18bb7d5e_z.jpg |
Progress has been non-existent on the blazer, but have gotten some stuff done on the Silverado.
It was time for new tires, old ones were leaking and pretty weather cracked. They served their purpose. Went with 285/75/R16 Duratracs for the new tires https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4212/...6d1c3ffd_z.jpg And installed https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4265/...e61b7f15_z.jpg Very happy with them so far, ice traction is miles beyond the old tires. Also found a set of stock front lights to replace the tinted ones. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4216/...2f6d7880_z.jpg And ordered some keyless entry remotes since the guy I bought the truck from never got any from the previous owner. Programming was easy, they work, nothing more to say about them lol. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4290/...b106a35c_z.jpg |
