My Sister's 1995 V6 Blazer 2 Dr

Since I know people tend to pay attention to build threads, and it's nice to have everything journaled in one spot, I figured I'd launch one of my own here. This seems like a great community, and maybe this thread will even be handy to someone else down the road. I'll be copying from my other thread(s) and posting tidbits here as needed to explain the backstory and updates.

So, our story begins when my sister got given a '95 (I think! Mfr Date says 1/95, but no materials elsewhere to say actual model year) Blazer 2 dr by a friend's family who was moving back to South America. See the pictures attached.

Well, it's a piece of junk the way they left it, so I've been trying to give it some love while she finishes getting her license and getting it on the road. For starters, they left it filled with garbage (I suspect these people were young judging by contents), and there's a lot of interior damage, namely, that the radio is completely gone, and the closest she has is an aftermarket Jensen tape deck presently living in the cargo area (unattached and non-functional).

The carpets were stained and in the trunk, partly bleached. There was at least one cigarette burn in the front seat, fortunately the car doesn't smell too bad though. The driver's seat also had a pretty large rip down the side seam, which I've largely repaired and resewed (I didn't even remember I had upholstery needles!). It's not perfect, but it is better than it was.

The interior plastics have been broken in some places, repainted poorly in others (black where the original color was gray), and generally scratched to hell.

The exterior has some pretty bad dents and scratched paint. Additionally, the antenna mount is loose (trying to fix that).

Pictures will follow as I get them taken.

Good luck with the overhaul, if you need parts try LMCTRUCK.com. They have a huge selection. Also, is that a New York State inspection sticker I see in the windshield? Where are you from? When you are done you may want to keep the truck for yourself.:icon_wink:

Why, that would be a NYS Inspection sticker. Excellent detective work Mr. Holmes. :P

I'm from Yonkers. Truth be told, while I wouldn't mind having a toy to play with offroad, I think I'd like to come up with the cash for my road toy first. Specifically, I had a Toyota Tercel for my first car, and there are some... interesting things you can do with them.

That said, I couldn't legitimately lay any claim to her car, though the thought to try has occurred to me. :)
