Default '95 (?) Blazer has Loose Antenna

Hey all,

The antenna on this Blazer is very badly loose. That is, the base of the antenna, not the whip itself. I can't figure out how to tighten it down or anything because the antenna goes under the fender, and its location is behind some master cylinder or other.

I see two holes in the fender next to it, it looks like they were meant to hold bolts or something originally, but I have no idea if it was meant for the antenna?

i had the same problem but mine is on an '04 and i don't know if there is a difference. Can you take a picture of the inner fender location?

Nothing doing on the picture of the inner fender. It's entirely blocked by some cylinder or other (didn't bother looking far enough back to figure out if it's the brake booster or what). I'll just see if I can rig up some other option to just pin it in place.

well, literally, my problem was nothing more than the mount being loose. i tightened it from underneath with a pair of pliers and it worked. i honestly couldn't tell you what i grabbed a hold of, i just know it worked

Yeah, that's the lousy part, it definitely looks like it should be easily tightened and I can't figure out how or where from.

i reached in from the engine compartment. i had the battery out already when i was doing some maintenance and what not which freed up access for me. so you can try that and see what happens but thats up to you

Ah, I'll have to look. As far as I could see, the battery was not in the way, but then, I haven't opened the bay in a few days. My alternative is that I can dremel out a small section of the inner fender where the antenna is and see if there's an obvious way to fix it. Not my preferred method, but definitely will work. Probably.
