Thanks guys! She was a one of a kind person for sure but we knew it was coming and I had time to make it to see her back in May so at least I got to say goodbye. Thanks to my amazing cousin who had been to see her literally everyday for the past 6 months I also got to talk to her on the phone allot including Sunday afternoon even tho she wasn't responsive so that helps allot to.
On to the burban! I stayed home today and started by replacing the cap and rotor in hopes that it would actually be that simple but of course it wasn't so I started with the basics and worked my way down the list all the way to the dang pick up coil on the dizzy and that's where I found the problem! After coupon codes I got a new dizzy with pick up coil, ignition module, and cap and rotor for $74 from advance and threw it in and bam fired right up and runs like it did before:) I'll throw a light on it tomorrow top double check timing but it seems to be pretty spot on. Now I'm heading out to start the water pump swap on the blazer wish me luck! And just cause I like pics! https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1437505341 |
Glad to hear it is a simple fix. Hope the blazer goes well, I know those water pumps are fairly simple.

Yeah all seems to be well with the burban luckily. All in all the blazer went well I'll update that in its thread tho.

Had a leaking wheel cylinder so I decided it was smart to just replace both while I was at it and since I had it apart why not replace the shoes as well! Then I decided since I had to bleed the brakes now was also a good time to upgrade to a newer style master cylinder to get rid of the squishy pedal these trucks are known for. I bought the adapter to make it an easy bolt on deal but of course Auto Zone had the wrong fitting in the packaging!! I ended up just buying the correct flare nut and bent up a new line since I had to go back to the store anyway and it was no longer a simple bolt on lol. Not much for pics but here's the new master installed.
https://blazerforum.com/forum/attach...ine=1444866215 I will say the pedal feel is sooooo much better now nice and firm and I only move about an inch before it starts to stop rather than 3 like before. |
I always hated the feel of the brakes in my 92 K1500, I didn't realize there was an upgrade for it.
|
Been driving it now with the upgraded master and I have to say I love it! It's a little firm for some people I'm sure but it's perfect for me. Zero mush in the pedal now and with all new equipment at all four corners it stops straight and fast!
|
I haven't done anything with this thing in a long time cause I haven't needed to! I finally broke down and bought a new stereo and speakers today after my last front speaker finally gave out on me yesterday!
Oh and my a.c. has a leak so I bought new o rings, accumulator, orifice tube and Schrader valve for it so that will be a little project once everything is in as well. |
